Making the most of each moment

With my children being young I often think about how influential their brains are. Am I doing everything I can to help encourage their thought process. I have read that a child learns and absorbs the most in their first two years. Wow, that is quick. It seems that this is the time with the least amount of sleep for me as well.

I am a book person. I believe that children thrive with books. Our children have many books but I don't stop there. We also visit the library every week to pick up our requests and browse on new subjects. I even learn a little something new each week. Some subjects that we tackle are very bizarre but I research what they request.

With their minds being so impressionable I can't help but feel guilt on the days when I don't feel well and can't give them the attention that they deserve. Without the attention I know that their minds aren't progressing as well as they could. In a sense I am wasting away a day of their life. A day when they could be learning something so wonderful, something so huge, something so important.

So forgive me my children. Forgive my waste of a day and know that if I could have taught you more and given you better quality time today, I would have because I love you.

Speaking of love is The Message 1 Corinthians 13 Love cares more for others than for self. I love my children this way and would do anything for them.
