We recently returned home from a small vacation out west and traveled home on a couple of airplanes. My oldest son loves the flights. He is always trying to get up and meet the pilots each time he gets on or off the plane. On this trip he managed to make his way up front and informed the pilots that he was a pilot as well. He then went on to tell them that he flies planes too. He said that he liked to use the yoke. They loved it and the flight attendant later presented him with his own set of pilot's wings.
I wonder how much of this my son will remember. I wonder how much of this is shaping who he will turn out to be. Do you think that he will have a job involving airplanes? Or maybe church, my son adores going to 'kids church' and singing with everyone. How much of our everyday lives
will change who we turn out to be? Or is it the bigger memories like vacations and birthdays that shape us the most?
