We sometime are lucky enough to be given a gift as we leave the story time room (puppets, paper puzzle,...). These little homemade gifts are a big treat and held in high regard with our kids. Every week they want to know when we can go back again and if the library is open today. I love to see my kids read. Our almost 2 year old will sit down with a book and pretend to read or even pick up one he know real well and read it to me. So Sweet!
Books are great gifts in our opinion. Any birthday or holiday that rolls around I know that books would be appreciated by both of my boys. They will read and reread a story over and over.
Our oldest is not as into the 'silly' stories as he calls them. He wants 'learning books'. He loves any book about science or animals. While we read he asks about 25 questions in EVERY book. We love to answer his questions, although it does make story time pretty long sometimes.
