We are blessed to live in an amazing community here in Texas. It is extremely hot and almost miserable to be outside, but the opportunities that this community gives is amazing.
There are free trolley rides that circle the mid-town area. Free concerts outdoors on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Jazz), and Sunday. A children's museum and science museum.
We recently started going to the Wednesday evening concerts and the music has been great. We have always lucked out with great parking. We take a short walk and plop down in the grass on our blanket by the waterway and listen while the kiddos play. There is a water fountain that the kids can run through and play in right in the middle (low stress on the parents to watch). And then when the sun goes down, everything is aglow in lights. It is almost magical. We have been twice already and can't wait for next Wed to roll around.
