Day One: Town of Marble -Our little family took a hike down to the lake and went for a dip (very cold water).
We all (19 people) stayed in one cabin close by to where the hike would begin early the next morning.

The town of Crystal was founded in 1880.
Settled into our 3 rustic cabins (no electricity and an outhouse out back). Had to get water out of the river and purify it for drinking.

Day Three: Big breakfast and then everyone did there own thing.
One group hiked up another 4 miles through 2 rivers to spend the night in tents and fish.
Knowing our kiddos couldn't make the hike, we stayed back and did a lot of fishing.
Had a visitor that day during nap time in our cabin. A squirrel scampered in, stood up and looked at our son, and then headed on out.
It was a warm day and the water was tempting to get in, but extremely to cold (but some still had to try it)!!!!

Day Four: Early morning sports followed by a 2 mile hike up to another beautiful
spot with all the kiddos. The kids did great. We did a big picnic when we got there and then got prepped to hike back down the mountain to our cabins. Almost ran out of water on the way down in the camelbacks.

Day Five: Our departure day.
The jeeps showed up early to get all our gear for us. We all hustled to get packed and then trekked back down the mountain.
Later that day (after we all finally showered) we had a birthday party for our oldest at Glenwood Springs Hotel.
A great ending to our very memorable vacation.
