A Cake for our Monkeys

Last February I attempted my first birthday cake for our little guy's second birthday. This was done with the help of my step mother-in-law. We did a fish cake and it turned out great for the first one.


This past month I attempted my second cake for our oldest's birthday. He wanted a monkey cake. I made the cake, froze it early, and got all the necessary icing tools to get to it. I did procrastinate however. Where is Grandma Jan when I need her?

I was still icing it when the guests arrived. I am pleased with how it turned out and can't wait for an excuse to have to make another one. It is fun starting up a new endeavour.
