G. G. Jo Tribute

September 13, 2011:

This past Tuesday morning I received a phone call that my grandmother was now in heaven with Jesus.  It was a great phone call.  She has been wanting and asking to go and be with the Lord for some time now.

I loved my grandmother very much.  It is sad that I won't be spending any more time with her here on Earth but I know, without any doubt, that I will be seeing her and dancing with her up in eternity!!!

My grandma was known nationally as 'The Homeschool Grandma'.  She helped pass homeschool laws in Iowa for decades.  I love knowing that my roots and ideas of homeschooling started with my grandma.  She helped and encouraged us with our children in so many ways.   Most homeschool families don't have the encouragement coming down all the way from the grandparent level.  We were so blessed.

Her funeral service was amazing.  They had an open microphone. There was a 1/2 hour that people came one by one to tell stories of my grandma.  She touched so many lives.

I pray that when I leave this place that I have left a legacy even 1/10 as good as she did.  Her footprint will be seen here FOREVER!

Grandma Jo I love you.  You led such a memorable life.  Thank you for being a non-waivering Christian influence in my life.  Thank you for all the pep talks and advice with teaching.  Thank you for always believing in me from the start.  Remember that 'Jesus loves you more than I do'.
