Rodeo Time

The Livestock Show and Rodeo is in town once again.  It is such a fun time of year.  YEEHAW!!!!

This is such a Texas thing.  The schools all have rodeo days where the kiddos all dress up as cowboys and cowgirls.  There are all kinds of art contests that showcase at the rodeo.  We hear about it on the radio daily and see posters and pictures all over town.  It all kicks off with a big town parade and then each day of the rodeo also features different artists to perform after the rodeo events.

The rodeo is here for a couple weeks and we already made it there.  We packed up the kiddos and headed in for some family fun.

All three kids had some kind of cowboy gear on.  Our oldest wore his cowboy hat and sheriff pin, our middle boy wore his cowboy boots, and our baby wore her cowgirl outfit and boots.  They were precious.

We started off just walking around and taking it all in.  It is a little overwhelming at first.  Then we headed to Kids Country to play.  The best part was the piggy races.  They did 3 rounds running for a cookie reward.  Then they showcased a swimming pig.  He was SOOOO cute but I kept thinking that
I hope he enjoys this or it would be mean for me to be sitting back enoying it and him be miserable.

Next we all got some food for dinner.  Finally it was time for the rodeo events.  We saw all kinds of competitions.  Highlights were the fast paced bull riding and the mutton bustin.   We left before the concert began because our sweet kiddos were getting tired from the long day.
