We got a new toy this year for Christmas (actually it is my hubby's). A Garmin GPS. We are now exploring the world of geo-caching. We did 2 spots yesterday. I am loving it thus far. So much fun and the kids kept up nicely on our walks. I am still uncertain about all the lingo with it but I can tell that it is something we will be doing often as a family. My husband told them how pirates used to look for treasures hidden all over and that they would call it 'bootie'. SO that stuck and they kept looking for 'bootie' the entire walks.
Right now we are still trying to decide on a name for our team. We took pictures at the first site once we found it and left our own goodies after the kiddos picked something to take with them (little guy got to pick (sticker) at first one and big guy (star wars toy) at the second). We all did a team cheer with our hands in a huddle. The kids LOVED it!
Any buddy willing to tell us your geo-cache names? We were thinking Thrifty Pirates but our oldest thought we said 'Frisky Pirates' and that was even funnier!
