Police - Field Trip

We did a great school field trip this week while studying stranger safety. We went to a local police crime office to talk with a dear friend and get a tour. The boys sat in a police car, watched the lights, heard all the sirens, shone the spotlight, and sat in the back.

Here we are looking at the prison.

Our five year old's only disappointment was not being able to try on real police handcuffs.

She explained the fingerprint and footprint process and how they use this information to find the 'bad guys'. It was a great learning experience for our 5 year old. We will try it again in a few years. It was great to hear the questions our kids had and how their minds work. She even quizzed him on stranger safety and what to do when (not if) someone comes to the door.

We are having such success with our homeschooling.
