'Mom, why do we have to do school on a holiday?'I tried to explain to our kids that Valentine's Day is just a fun day to celebrate how much we love each other but they want it to be a national holiday.
We had a great family breakfast and opened lots of Valentine's, treats, and gifts. They my hubby let them in on our secret - We were
taking them to the zoo!
Had a great time and they can't wait to go back again to see more animals. We saw less
than 1/2 of the animals but we took our time and really enjoyed the day.
God gave us a great day to visit. It wasn't to sunny and it wasn't to warm. Everything was 'just right'. While looking around we read through lots of animals facts and looked through animal books.
It is fun to do field trips when no one else is!!!
After we came home my sweet hubby made an incredible Japanese dinner (I was craving Miso Soup). We decorated and ate heart cookies for dessert.
I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!
