In this fast paced world I am happy to find a 1/2 hour to clean my house and get things picked up again. I put my kids down for a nap (one at a time) and get to work. Where to start. Always in my bedroom. It is my little soft spot in the house, a quieter room. I busy myself and slowly work from room to room. 35 minutes later I hear stirring from the baby. I go in and pick him up. He is happy to see me and snuggles right in on my shoulder. What a perfect moment, one that I hope I can remember in detail after he is all grown up.
How do we chose what to do with our days, with our time and each minute we are blessed with. I once heard that you can't complain about what you haven't gotten done because God put 24 hours in a day for a reason. It is a perfect block. Whatever you don't finish, isn't meant to be done that day. Give your time to God and see how he helps you through your day.
This has helped me try to slow down, pray about what to with my day, and enjoy my moments. Even now having just cleaned yesterday, I already see little baby fingerprints all over the desk as I write this. I am not upset. I actually have a little smile and I am enjoying them. There will be days when I won't have such an amiable site.
I have been given two of God's children to help raise. It is a precious gift from God and I need to slow down and not move at such a fast pace. Just take a deep breath and enjoy the little fingerprints!
