A Job Perk

My husband and I have great jobs. One of the many perks is the many days off each month. Well we took advantage of that this week and went camping (totally spur of the moment).

We drove less than an hour and a half to a great camping spot on a beautiful lake. The boys were in heaven as soon as they jumped out of the truck. They played while we set up the tent and the site. It was so easy. And being the middle of the week, we were the only ones there. It was perfect, we could be as loud as we wanted.

Everything was a huge success even though we forgot a few camping items (oops, our sleeping bag). Dinner was great, thanks to my hubby, campfire rocked (with tasty smores), played cards and watched the little flashlights moving around in the tent. You see the kiddos were not sleeping after all and they had no idea that we could see them outside of the tent if they had on those flashlights. So we smiled and laughed as the little lights danced across the canvas of the tent and eventually one little light stopped moving (little one fell asleep).

Fishing was on the agenda for the next day and everyone had a great time. I watched and did some bible study as the three boys had some 'guy time'. There were no caught fish but that didn't matter.

Can't wait to do it again.
