Our oldest is showing some very anal behavior. He is a meticulous hand washer. He also wants things done a certain way or he often breaks down and gets upset. It is mostly while we are home, thankfully.
He also has this odd habit of naming an animal that he wants to be. He follows this by saying, "I'm a lion. Your a lion. Dad's a lion. Brother's a lion. We all are lions. OK?" And then whomever is listening must say 'OK' back or he gets upset and says he has to start all over. It is quite something. I think that he does this about 10-15 times each day with a new animal. He also wants us to remember which animal he just said and asks numerous times.
Hopefully it is all nothing and it will pass. Time will tell. I often need to pray that I say the right thing back to him b/c I don't want a meltdown. Once he gets upset it takes him quite a while to cheer up again. I love him dearly and know that if this is something more than a phase, life is going to be quite a challenge for him. I pray Lord that this to shall pass.
