Being the 'Daddy'

While playing house with his friends, our son always wants to be the daddy. He loves to use his imagination. Sometimes they are people, but often times they are an animal family. He continually wants to be the 'daddy'. He loves to take care of the little ones and be in charge.

It is such a lovely compliment to my husband. We watch him interact and listen to the things he says and know that he is getting it all from us. We have such a great influence on his life. It is such a huge job and responsibility raising a child.

Children are always observing, taking it all in. They are like sponges. He soaks in the TV, our conversations on the phone, the music on the radio, his friends reactions. Processing it all to be used at a later date. My prayer is that most of these things getting soaked up are good, and true, and honest. We want to raise decent human beings who will go out and make a difference in our world.
