We officially encountered our first bee sting this afternoon at our house. I was trying to do something fun in our Kindergarten camping unit for homeschool and have a grilled hot dog outdoor picnic. The bees invaded so we picked up our blanket to move it all inside. On the way in, our youngest was carrying his plate and started to SCREAM. He cried and screamed and eventually dropped everything on his plate. I rushed to his side as he was swatting and slapping at his back. A bee had stung him. Apparently he got the stinger out with his own swats at his back because I couldn't find anything.
The next five minutes were me staring at him, unable to move, in fear he would stop breathing. I finally snapped out of it and helped our poor son as I should have right away.
After an hour he came up to me to inform me that he was all better and the sting was gone. So sweet.
In this picture I asked him to enact the bee sting with our toy bee and he smiled for me. What a trooper.
