Rob

My husband and I develop sticker charts for the boys to work on things that are age appropriate. Our youngest (2 1/2) does 5 stickers of good poops in the potty days. Our oldest (5) has to earn 10 stickers. His past chart was for going above and beyond with good manners and helpfulness. He finally earned the 10th one this morning (after working on this for 2 months). Whenever a sticker chart is complete we try our best to give them their reward immediately. Our big boy was given the reward of any toy he wanted at our favorite toy store, The Learning Express. I don't even have to put a monetary cap on it yet and you will see why as you read on. (This is our son who went crazy excited one year when Santa brought him a plastic fish tank (2.99) with fake fish (0.99) over his new big boy bike (90.99)).

We arrived and he went right to the toy he had talked about during our car ride over. Once he held it and said 'This is the one I want', I asked 'Are you sure?' Well then he decided to be perfectly happy with his choice and walk the aisles. I am pleased he did. He ended up picking the same toy he first wanted. But now I know that this toy is not an impulse buy and I believe he will cherish it for quite a while. He picked an interesting bird. A very realistic Robin. His name is Rob. He moves his tail, beak and head, and he can talk like a bird as well (slightly freakish - but don't tell him). Our son loves God's creation. He is an animal lover still through and through! (Bird = 19.95, His Love For ALL Creatures = Priceless)
