Baby Girl

Our new addition is here finally. And SHE is beautiful.Born June 1st
19 1/2 inches long
6 pounds 5 ounces

What a surprise
we had. My sweet hubby and I both thought it was another boy for sure. We didn't really begin to think about raising a girl or the differences or anything. We did have a first name all picked out but that was about it.

Labor wasn't very long. We left for the hospital at 8 minutes apart but was already down to 6 1/2 minutes by the time we got there. I was only 3 cm dilated but the contractions were coming on strong. They checked me in and started my antibiotics about an hour after we arrived. I needed to get through the 4 hour Strep B Antibiotics and start the second bag before the baby would come out.

After 2 hours into it I had the urge to push. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it the rest of the 4 hours without something significantly changing. My doc recommended an epidural in order to lessen the
urge to push. It worked. I didn't feel like pushing anymore. I didn't have pain in my contractions. But it did make my blood pressure crash and the babies followed mine. They were close to doing a C-Section but the Lord answered our prayers and the baby shifted and the blood pressure went up and the stress went down.

Everything was smooth sailing after that until the baby came out.
Our doctor announced it was a girl!!!!!

The cord was wrapped twice around her neck but God once again laid His hand on our little miracle and she made a safe entry into our world at 9:35 pm.

What a blessing. What a joy. What a surprise.

What are we going to do with a girl?

  1. She is so beautiful! I am so glad that God watched over you and your sweet girl. With girls, you do the same as you would a boy, just with more drama. (Wink, Wink)
