Searching for the Perfect Pumpkin

We looked for pumpkins at 3 different places this year until we found a perfect one for all 6 of us (we always include the dog in our carving).

The kids stayed in good spirits and were happy to keep looking at pumpkins.  They played tag with each other everywhere we went today.

We carved after dinner this evening.  This was the first year we let our 7 year old try to use the pumpkin carving tool.  He did a great job but enjoyed it too much.  It reminded me of boys and fireworks.  They start to get that strange look in their eyes and can't stop ('just one more').  Our guy wanted to keep working on it and jabbing holes into it everywhere.  We let him until it was time for a bath.  I'll have to post pictures of the finished products tomorrow.
