So Long Candy

It's out of here.  The candy is almost completely gone.  They each decided they would donate almost all of their candy to the troops.  It is called Operation Gratitude and a couple of the local dentists are participating in this program.  Children can bring in their Halloween candy, toothbrushes, and toothpaste and send it to our troops overseas.

We located the closest facility to accept our candy and we were told that the kids would get $1.00 per pound up to $5.00.  Wow, a bonus.  Now they were ready to do it immediately.

We put everything into 2 bags and drove over.  They already had a big box almost filled with other donations.  They weighed our bags.  The first was 4 pounds and the second was 2 pounds.  They split the money and each went away $3.00 richer.  Such a great program.  I love that the sugar is GONE and that our little guys were eager to give it up to a great cause.  Brilliant!
