Tai Kwon Do Tournament

This past Saturday our boys participated in their first ever Tai Kwon Do tournament.  They were very excited and both did a great job.

My hubby wasn't able to go so I was worried about doing this alone.  I was dreading the 'what if's'.  Like,  What if my baby won't be quiet or needs to eat at the wrong time?  What if someone has to go to the bathroom while the other one is competing?  What if we are late and miss the competition?  What if my big guy hurts someone sparring?

I took a breath and gave it to God.  I prayed mostly for time management skills to be present.  This is what I am lacking the most these days.  My prayers were answered.  The kids were well behaved.  We didn't miss anything.  And the competition wasn't running late (not even one minute late!!! - I had heard horror stories about them being 1-2 hours behind sometimes).

They both came away with medals.  They were beaming.  They walked taller this day.  They smiled bigger.  They both thanked me so many times for letting them do the competition.  I was a nervous mommy but in the end it was all worth it.

I love my boys and I love their enthusiasm for success.  TKD is such a great sport for us.  It is highly flexible and allows them to set goals on how far they want to go in their belts.  I recommend it for every kiddo.
